Privacy Policy

The short version

• No account, no email, no phone number and no name are needed to use Ninar.
• Your favorites, mixes, sleep log, reminders and your baby's estimated birth date are stored on your device and are not sent to us.
• We count anonymous usage events (for example "a sound started playing") with a random identifier that is not linked to who you are.
• Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. RevenueCat helps us confirm your purchase.
• We do not sell data and we do not show ads.
• This version of Ninar does not use the microphone.
• You can ask us to delete anonymous data linked to your device at any time: esquynalabs@gmail.com.

Who we are

Ninar and this website are made by Esquyna Labs ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the data described here. You can reach us at esquynalabs@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

The content you create in the app lives only on your device. We do not receive it:

• the naps and nights you log, with their times;
• your baby's estimated birth date, calculated from the age you choose;
• favorites, saved mixes, volume and timer preferences;
• reminder settings and app settings.

Uninstalling the app or resetting it in Settings removes that content from your device. We cannot recover it for you.

What we collect

Anonymous usage events

To understand which sounds and features help, the app sends small event messages, such as onboarding completed, a sound started, a session ended or the paywall viewed. Each event carries:

• a random anonymous identifier generated on your device;
• the app version, the operating system and its version, the device model family and the language;
• an approximate location (country or region) derived by our analytics providers from your network connection;
• simple properties of the event: which sound played, the timer chosen and for how many minutes it played; the age range of your baby that you selected (for example 3 to 6 months) and the sleep difficulty you chose; and, when you log sleep, whether it was a nap or a night with a rounded duration.

Events never include your baby's name or birth date, the exact times you log, or anything that identifies you. We never connect the identifier to your name, email, phone number or contacts.

Purchase information

Payments are processed by Apple or Google. We never see your card or payment details. RevenueCat receives the anonymous identifier and the store receipt so it can tell the app whether Pro is active, and it sends us purchase events (started, renewed, cancelled) tied to that anonymous identifier.

This website

This website does not use accounts. To measure which pages and buttons are useful, it uses PostHog (EU cloud, reached through our own domain) and Google Analytics 4. We record page views, clicks on the store buttons and plays of the sound preview, together with the page language and the campaign parameters in the link you arrived from (for example utm_source).

If your device is in a time zone in Europe, the site asks for your consent before storing any identifier in your browser. If you decline, we measure only in memory, with no stored identifier, and Google Analytics is not loaded.

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the service.

Who processes data for us

• PostHog (EU cloud): product analytics for the app and this website.
• Google (Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics 4): aggregated app and website analytics.
• RevenueCat: purchase and subscription management.
• Apple App Store and Google Play: downloads, payments and subscription billing.
• Vercel: hosting of this website and its technical logs.

These providers act on our instructions or under their own terms, and each has its own privacy policy. We share only what is described here.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent data.
• We do not show advertising or share data with ad networks.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not record or listen to audio.

Children

Ninar is meant to be used by adults (parents and caregivers) to play sounds for a baby. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The only information about your baby that leaves your phone is the age range you select, never tied to a name or a birth date.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the LGPD in Brazil) you may have the right to know what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to object to processing and to withdraw consent.

• Content on your device: it is yours. Delete it by resetting or uninstalling the app.
• Anonymous analytics tied to your device: write to esquynalabs@gmail.com and include the anonymous identifier shown in the app under Settings, Privacy. We will delete the events linked to it.
• Purchases: manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account.
• Website: decline analytics in the banner, or clear the site data in your browser.
• You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Where data is processed and for how long

Some providers process data outside your country, including in the European Union and the United States, relying where required on legal mechanisms such as standard contractual clauses. PostHog data is stored in its EU region.

Anonymous analytics are kept only while they are useful to improve the app, then deleted or reduced to aggregates. Purchase events are kept as long as needed for accounting and to support your purchase.

Security and changes

Data is sent over encrypted connections, and keeping your content on your device reduces what can be exposed. If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app for material changes.
